2008-10-22 Speedkarting

Oh my God! Hardcore! Free trains to Wakefield! that's over 2 hours of travelling! :D
40 minutes of constant racing! plus 15 minutes time trials (warm up)
It was so tiring!, especially after only one banana! (and no meal)
steve and chris were so fast! although steve has been speedkarting loads before and chris is one of those guys who has climbed mount everest :D
i came 3rd :D got a medal to show for it! I worked hard for that!
When the race was over I nearly collapsed! I was so battered and bruised
There was a big crash that injured me! twisted my knee a bit. I was pulling over to let the first place guy past me and he smashed into me!
Then the 2nd place guy cut me up so I had to slam on the brakes!
Oh well, I survived!
Mmmm sweet chili and BBQ KFC thanks Jane love ya!
i am so tired now! it was so much harder than the one in warrington! no intervals! i didnt crash :P my engine cut out and i got rammed : / i overtook loads of people! the handling was good. the seat wasnt tight enough (i was too skinny) i needed to blow my nose in the helmet lol. im 22 and i felt dead!
cheers boss for letting me leave early AND i arrived late coz of my vaccinations for my travels. i cant believe how hardcore and enduring it was! it's a real work out!

The North Team went Speed Karting on Wednesday 22 October 2008 in Wakefield. Eleven intrepid racing drivers attempted the gruelling 40 minute race in the recently extended indoor track at F1 Racing. The Karts were fast with keen brakes, no suspension and no power steering.

Steve Lewis was the winner completing 54 laps in the time, best lap time of 41.7 seconds and top speed of 43.1 mph. Congratulations, Steve!

Chris Selby came a very respectable second completing 52 laps with a best lap time of 44.5 seconds and top speed of 40.4 mph.

Pete came third completing 51 laps, best lap time 44.9 seconds, top speed 40.1 mph, followed by Mike with a VERY close fourth place, best lap time 43.9 seconds and top speed 41 mph. There were only two seconds between the two.

No disrespect to the other racers, it was a very tough challenge and well done to:

Christian Charlton

Jean-Paul Wheater

Andy Newton

Chris Pike

Bob Thomson

Jo Haigh

Jane Miller
