Ally drove us to the dome in her Chevrolet monster. Excited! We queued from about 4pm! :O :/ after Nandos :D Ultra hot!. Gotta spoil myself for Porcupine Tree in the Millennium Dome!! :D Good food!!
Mmm

So many friendly PT forumers and more of Ally's mates from previous PT gigs and Barcelona : )

The dome is mainly restaurants, cinema and two gig venues and it looks like theyre modifying it for the Olympics. It's massive! Oceansize were ok as expected. Noisy. Porcupine Tree played what I class as their best gig yet! :D :O :D HEAVY! Best of! Almost :P Good lighting, cameras!!!!! great sound! I got some cracking photos! Small posh venue! About 2000! :D We tried gatecrashing the VIP aftershow party. We met John Wesley! and Richard the keyboarder :D Oh and I got my photo with the lead singer of Oceansize doing the claw lol :D
Thanks Ally and Fiona for everything! So kind!

Here's some posts I liked on the PT forum

AnothernCOD

SW saying "good evening Philadelphia" because he wanted to confuse bootleggers

I feel quite humbled at the moment.

As detailed earlier in this thread and in other threads, we had a meetup on Saturday night and also before the gig. After the gig a small bunch of us decided to wait and see if we could meet any of the band. Scots Pine realised that a staircase next to the entrance to Indig02 led to the afterparty - and we all charged in!

Paul T spotted that Richard was at the bar with his back to us and asked me to give him (Paul T not Richard) his CDs which I'd put in my bag. But at this point security had realised that we weren't supposed to be there and I got all nesh and said, "no, they're going to throw us out". Scots Pine and Mrs Scots Pine had been at the front of the charge, however, and Mrs Scots Pine said to Richard, "we've got your biggest fan here!" and waved me forward.

(At this point I need to explain that as a member of JapanSylvian.com, I volunteered - not that I needed much persuading Wink - to email Richard when it was suggested that we do email interviews with the former members of Japan. He replied, and the answers are on that forum.)

So I shook his hand and said, "Hi Richard, I'm Natasha" and I think there may have been a flicker of recognition possibly - plenty of Natashas in the world, but perhaps not that many emailing Richard questions Grin - and then, because I wanted to get it all in, I went on "Iemailedyousomequestionsandyouansweredsothankyouverymuch" and then we all turned to leave, bumped into Wes, who would have talked to us, but the security people were about to get their batons out...

Anyway... the gig was amazing. Meeting Richard, if only for 30 seconds, was also amazing, obviously - I've been waiting 25 years for that. But this weekend just wouldn't have been as great as it has been without the PTFers I met there - all for the first time - and that's why I feel humbled.

So, I'd like to thank Scots Pine and Mrs Scots Pine, Paul T, Jamie Ghost Insurgentes (you owe me £10 Jay Wink), Futile, Saturninebear, Cjdmadcow and Ally: kiss

I'd like to thank Richard for having me talk at him for 30 seconds Grin - another kiss

I'd like to thank the city of London for being my home town, even if I haven't lived here since I was two. Seeing a band in THEIR home town makes it more special, don't you think?

And... I'd like to thank Hewlett Packard, who made my laptop, and all of you for reading through this. That is, if you did. PTF is the bomb!!! Cheesy

SW talked a fair bit more than usual, moved around a lot more, and used his funky light-up guitar for Half Light

One of the best nights of my life, and the best concert I've ever attended! I didn't think there was a weak point, and if I had chosen the setlist myself it would have been near enough what we got. Front row with all you lovely LOVELY PTF people was definitely the place to be, and from where I was the sound mix was perfect.

A special thank you to Futile for taking me. Eternally grateful, and a big favour owed.

If I could have changed one thing it would have been to have Krys there. Sad Much missed...... Hopefully next time. And I've had to resign as Tim Bowness' official stalker, given that I didn't cross the room to find him, for fear of losing my perfect spot on the front row!

Cracking show...definitely one for the purists and brave of Steven to kick off with 4 tunes on his acoustic...enjoyed his ''those waiting for the death metal shredding...'' comment early on Grin

Highlights for me where Half Light and Dark Matter...gutted they missed Sleep of no Dreaming though...can't win em all.

Only other downer was the lack of proper pubs nearby...felt like drinking in a mall! Try the Forum next time?

Feel free to send me any of your reviews or photos and I'll stick em up here : )
