Phills review

Good Shoes - Manchester Academy 3 - March 24th 2007

Back at this great venue again one month after Ash. Picked up some free posters and shit before getting a pint of bud (only £2.75, not bad at a gig). Beer was indeed very nice too!

Packed full of young students, and mainly girls - always a good thing. Vincent Vincent and The Villains hit the stage. Cool set again from this great upcoming band who will have an album out later this year. Johnny Two bands followed by On My Own were the highlights of the set.

After another pint and chat with some of the peeps in the audience, good shoes hit the stage. Crowd go mad from the get go. What a great audience who were realyl into every song from the "relatively" unknown band. If only it was like that somewhere in warrington. Loads of jumping around, and a fair few crowd surfers.

The band were awesome. Listened to their album all week and sounds even better live. Just hope they dont make it too big so they will come back to play these small venues again. They saved most of their singles to the end - never meant to hurt you, we are not the same, all in my head - which finished their set off on a high.

Onto jillys rockworld after the gig which was cool. Room one in there is awesome - u2, led zepelin and guns n roses all on in the short time i was in there. A great room with a mix of classic and new rock. Also had chili peppers on in the other room, but was mainly metal in there.

And then in the words of vincent vincent - it was the "end of the night", and facing the reality of losing an hours sleep lol.
